One of the most famous legends of Bhangarh is connected with a sage known as Baba Balau Nath.
भानगढ़ की सबसे प्रसिद्ध किंवदंतियों में से एक बाबा बालाऊ नाथ नाम के साधु से जुड़ी हुई है।
According to the local story, the sage lived in the area before the town was built.
स्थानीय कहानी के अनुसार, शहर बनने से पहले बाबा बालाऊ नाथ इसी क्षेत्र में रहते थे।
He reportedly agreed to allow the settlement to be constructed, but he placed one unusual condition on the rulers.

No building in Bhangarh was supposed to become so tall that its shadow reached his home.

For some time, the condition was supposedly respected.

The man was supposedly skilled in black magic.

One day, he saw the princess buying perfume from a shop.

The legend says that he used magic on the perfume so that the princess would fall in love with him after using it.

However, Ratnavati discovered his plan.

Instead of using the perfume, she threw it onto a large rock.

According to the story, the magical force caused the rock to move toward the man and crush him.

Before dying, he supposedly cursed Bhangarh and predicted that the town would be destroyed.

The legend continues by saying that the town was eventually destroyed and many of its inhabitants died.
